COVID-19: SUPPORT FOR PUBS

Published:

Categories: Campaign Emails, Latest Issues

Pubs and restaurants are a valued part of our communities and they have been hit particularly hard by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Our local pub landlords have done the right thing by closing as per the public health guidance. Many are accessing the support packages put in place but face financial difficulties due to the large pub companies refusing to ease rent demands which are supposed to be tied to turnover.

I’d hope the big pub breweries will listen to these concerns and step in to help local pubs get through these difficult times.

As West Dunbartonshire’s MP I have been assisting a number of local businesses with concerns about Covid-19 and would urge any pub licencees needing support to get in touch.
