In a statement today to the Scottish Parliament, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that West Dunbartonshire will move from Level 2 to Level 1 covid-19 protection measures from 00:01 on Saturday 5 June 2021.
The full list of local authority areas moving to Level 1 from Saturday 5th June is as follows: Highland, Argyll & Bute, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus, Perth & Kinross, Falkirk, Fife, Inverclyde, East and West Lothian, West Dunbartonshire, Dumfries & Galloway and the Borders.
The main changes in easing restrictions to Level 1 include:
- 12 people from 12 households can meet outdoors;
- 8 people from 3 households can meet indoors in public places;
- 6 people from 3 households can meet in private dwellings;
- 100 people can attend weddings and funerals;
- Soft play centres and funfairs can reopen.
This represents very welcome progress in the fight against coronavirus. However, residents in West Dunbartonshire and other areas are asked to continue to be careful and remember that meeting outdoors involves much less risk than meeting indoors.
The latest up-to-date guidance for Level 1 areas is available on the Scottish Government’s website: www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels-allocation-to-local-councils-1-june-2021/pages/overview/
