This is the 25th year of the free Helpline which will be open from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th August, and then from 9am until 5pm up until the 16th August. The number is 0808 100 8000.
Commenting, Martin Docherty MP said:
“I’d like to send my best wishes to those in Clydebank, Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven receiving their exam results today. Congratulations to all pupils and teachers for all their hard work and effort.
“This can be a nerve-wracking time for pupils but it’s important to remember that whatever happens there is always a next step. My own experience is testament to that – despite being dyslexic and leaving school at 16 without any qualifications I was fortunate to be able to enrol in a college course before going on to university and obtaining a master’s degree.
“For school leavers looking to take that next step – whether it be a modern apprenticeship, employment, volunteering or taking a place at college or university – there are plenty of options to consider.
“Even if you don’t get the results you’d been hoping for, don’t panic – there’s plenty of support and advice available on what to do next. Skills Development Scotland offers a free helpline for pupils and parents to speak with experienced career advisers. The helpline opens at 8am on Tuesday 8 August and is available by calling 0808 100 8000.”
