The SNP strongly support employers allowing flexible work, and have worked to encourage more employers to allow flexible work that suits employees’ needs.

We are hugely aware of the many benefits flexible working can have, including for those with caring responsibilities.

The contribution that carers make to our society is priceless. It’s only right that they are duly valued and properly supported.

The Scottish Government has commissioned a feasibility study for a ‘What Works Centre for Flexible Work’ to design, test and embed new approaches to increasing the availability of flexible working – in particular for low income parents.

The SNP Scottish Government is helping support 2,000 women to return to work after a career break through the new Women Returners Programme worth £5 million over three years, building on the success of a pilot project run since 2017
