WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE MOVING TO LEVEL 0

Categories: Campaign Emails, Latest Issues, News

In a statement today to the Scottish Parliament, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that West Dunbartonshire (along with the rest of Scotland) will move to modified Level 0 covid-19 protection measures from 00:01 on Monday 19th July 2021.

The wearing of face coverings will continue to be mandatory in Scotland, along with a number of other sensible precautions in order to help give protection for those vulnerable to Covid-19.

The main changes in easing restrictions to Level 0 include:

  • physical distancing will reduce to 1 metre in all indoor public settings and outdoors;
  • 8 people from up to 4 households can meet indoors at home;
  • 10 people from up to 4 households can meet in a public indoor space – such as a pub or restaurant;
  • 15 people from up to 15 households can meet outdoors – whether in a private garden or public place;
  • hospitality settings can open till midnight, if their current licence permits that, and customers will no longer be required to pre-book a two-hour slot to go to a pub or restaurant;
  • up to 200 people will be able to gather at weddings and funerals.

This represents another welcome step forward in the gradual easing of restrictions. However, residents in West Dunbartonshire and other areas are asked to continue to be careful and remember that meeting outdoors involves much less risk than meeting indoors.

The latest up-to-date guidance for Level 0 is available on the Scottish Government’s website: www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/pages/protection-level-0/

Please come forward for both doses of your vaccine as soon as you can – details of the vaccination programme are available here: www.nhsinform.scot/covid-19-vaccine

Residents are also encouraged to access their free rapid coronavirus testing kits – details available here: www.gov.scot/news/regular-rapid-testing-for-everyone/
