It has been announced today (8 December 2020) that West Dunbartonshire is to move into Level 3 Covid-19 restrictions, alongside the other Scottish local authority areas currently subject to the highest Level 4 restrictions.

The easing of restrictions will come into place from 6pm on Friday 11th December, though retail premises can reopen from 6am on Friday to help stores and shopping centres manage the flow of customers.

The next scheduled review of the Covid-19 protection levels will be on Tuesday 15th December.

Martin Docherty-Hughes MP said:

“It’s welcome news that West Dunbartonshire continues to make progress in tackling Covid-19 and will no longer be subject to the highest level of restrictions.

“The sacrifices everyone’s being asked to make are hard, but they are making a difference in driving down infection rates and protecting our NHS.

“Case numbers across West Dunbartonshire have more than halved in recent weeks, giving real cause for optimism as the roll-out of the vaccine begins.

“We’re not out of the woods quite yet though. Even with case numbers down, this deadly virus is still circulating and remains a threat.

“As restrictions ease it’s critical we continue doing all we can to keep ourselves and loved ones safe by following the latest guidance.”
