Martin Docherty-Hughes MP welcomed Loch Lomond Brewery to the House of Commons this week to showcase the local family firm’s popular craft beer in parliament.

The MP for West Dunbartonshire invited the Alexandria-based brewers to parliament after securing a guest spot for its multi-award winning ‘Southern Summit’ pale ale in the Strangers’ Bar.

Loch Lomond Brewery’s co-owner Euan MacEachern and sales manager George Wotherspoon were given a tour of the Commons, and presented with a certificate on behalf of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group in recognition of the quality of the firm’s craft beer.

Loch Lomond Brewery was founded by husband and wife team Euan and Fiona MacEachern in 2011. The family firm has won multiple awards for its locally produced beers, including CAMRA Champion Beer of Scotland in 2017 and SIBA Supreme Cask Champion of the UK in 2016.

Martin Docherty-Hughes MP said:

“West Dunbartonshire is home to many fantastic food and drink producers which I seek to promote at every opportunity. I was delighted to welcome Loch Lomond Brewery to parliament to help showcase some of the best independent craft beers Scotland has to offer.

“The team at Loch Lomond Brewery have invested a lot of time, passion and hard work into producing quality products made here in West Dunbartonshire. It’s great to see local family businesses going from strength to strength and I wish Euan, George and the team all the best for the future.”

“We are delighted to have our award winning Southern Summit pale ale featured in the House of Commons. At Loch Lomond Brewery we’re very proud of the quality of our products and its great to have Martin’s support in showcasing our passion for creating new and exciting craft beers.”
