A local soft play business in Alexandria has been praised in the House of Commons for its recent success at the Scottish Hospitality awards.
West Dunbartonshire’s MP Martin Docherty-Hughes met with business owner Julie Thomas – who runs the Wee Play Place based on Bridge Street – to congratulate them on winning the ‘Best Entertaining Team’ at this year’s Scottish Hospitality Awards.
Local MP Martin tabled an Early Day Motion (EDM) in the House of Commons commending the team at the Wee Play Place for their hard work and dedication, praising the impact the small business has had in welcoming and supporting families in the community.
A framed copy of the parliamentary motion was presented to the team at the Wee Play Place during a visit by the Member of Parliament.
Martin Docherty-Hughes MP said:
“It was a privilege to meet with Julie and the team at the Wee Play Place and congratulate them on their success at the Scottish Hospitality Awards.
“This is a great example of a small local business playing a big part in welcoming and supporting families from West Dunbartonshire and beyond.
“I was delighted to table a motion in parliament commending the Wee Play Place for all their hard work over the past years. The pandemic has been a challenging time for local small businesses like this one. It’s great to see them now going from strength to strength, and I wish Julie and the team all the best for the future.”
